Chandigarh Int’l Marathon on Nov 22, offers Rs 1 crore prize money
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh International Marathon 2026 will be held on Nov 22, with organisers expecting participation from runners across the country and abroad.
Director sports Saurabh Kumar Arora said the event will feature four categories: 42 km, 21km, 10km and 5km. Organisers said the marathon will be run on an AIMS-approved route, adding to its stature as an international road-running event.
Inviting runners to participate, Arora said the event offers an opportunity to experience Chandigarh’s sporting spirit.
Early-bird registrations are open till Oct 20. The marathon will carry a total prize purse of Rs 1 crore.
In the full marathon, the top three men and women finishers will receive Rs 7 lakh, Rs 5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh, respectively. In the half marathon, the corresponding prizes are Rs 4 lakh, Rs 3 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh.
All finishers in the 10km and 5km races will receive medals and certificates.
